January, The Time for Setting Goals

I may not have been the most diligent at writing blog posts, but it wasn't because I didn't want to.  I admit I really don't have a good excuse, like most people I know I'm really good at procrastinating.

Funny thing, and I mean no offense to you sis, but it was my sister who pointed out to me that I hadn't written any posts for a while.  I honestly didn't think she cared.  LOL  Keep me on my toes!

So, goals...do I have any for this year?  Oh yes!  Many!  I have them all stuffed up in my head.  Perhaps it is time I write them down and make myself more accountable for them.  So here they are:

  1. Get my weight to what is ideal for my age and height.  I won't say the exact amount since most people gawk at me for saying it.  ;-)
  2. Get better organized.  I say this every year and every year I do improve, but I still have more to do.
  3. Stop Smoking...oh wait, I don't smoke... I mean do more outdoor activities, like camping, hiking, and roller blading.
  4. Triple the amount of sales I made from last year.  The exact number hasn't been established yet, but it will be soon.
  5. Be more active on my blog and Facebook.
Those are my main five.  I want to hear about your goals.  Please do share and then we can all help each other.  Also, if there is anything you would like to see on this blog share that too.

August! Already!

I just got back from a trip to Illinois.  It seemed like it took forever to finally go on the trip and then I blinked my eyes and the trip was over.  Now school for my daughter is right around the corner!  We had such big plans--going hiking, camping, going to Lagoon, yoga, and so much more...The saying goes, "Time flies when you're having fun," It would seem time also flies when you feel it passing through your fingers.

I have been busy in other ways though.  I'm still taking classes from the Art Institute and crocheting up a storm.  Stay tuned for more of my designs and pieces to be posted.

I hope you are all well!

Still Kicking!

So, I'm still alive and kicking.  I got really busy with my 'day' job a few weeks ago and then when that business slowed down I got really sick.  So sick, in fact, that I was unable to participate in the boutique I mentioned before.  I was so bummed.  I had worked hard to prepare for it.  My family had pitched in to help as well and then the day before I was supposed to do it I came down with a really bad sinus infection.  It's been almost two weeks and I'm just now starting to stop coughing all the time.

So, now it's time to put my nose, or should I say hands, back to the grind stone!  I have several scarves finished and ready for sale, so I just need to get them posted on my Etsy store. www.infuseddesigns/etsy.com

I look forward to creating again, now that I'm feeling better!  Wahoooo!

Craft Boutique

I'm going to participate in my first craft boutique. It will be on Friday, May 14th at the Cottonwood Complex Park (1300 East 4325 South), starting at 3:00 and going until 8:00. I'm very excited and nervous at the same time. I really don't have a lot of inventory built up, so I need to stay busy crocheting. Biggest trouble I'm having right now is my wrist. Its not used to all of this work. I'm just doing my best to keep it rested, stretched, and medicated, but at the same time able to work.  If you're living in the vicinity of Salt Lake City then come see me!

Life is going pretty well...

I've been getting a lot of interest in my scarves, some interest has lead to orders.  I knew I was on to something unique, but I really didn't expect it to get this much interest so fast.  Now I must not let this go to my head.  I will stay diligent and focused, for this is what I've always wanted.  The chance to design my own art and have it be appreciated.  It's happening, so I must enjoy it and revel in it.  And on a side note, everyone send good vibes to my wrist so I can keep up with the demand.  :-)

Here's my latest creation.  This scarf was made for a work friend of mine.  She loves pink and black together so thats what I gave her.  She was so thrilled with it she showed it to other co-workers and some of them have placed orders as well.

Things are Happening!

In my last post I talked about the dreary weather that isn't representative of Spring and how I wasn't going to let it stop me.  Well I didn't!  I now have six orders for the head-scarfs/belts that I design and crochet.

This is a picture of my first scarf. One of the other orders I'm working on has black yarn and pink beads.  Another order will have black yarn and aqua beads.

I'm so excited to finally be taking orders.  And it all kind of just happened.  I've been planning on launching an online store on Etsy.com but I hadn't quite got that far.  Now I'm hopeful and optimistic that the store will be successful.

Spring, Is it Here or Not?

Spring is my favorite season for several reasons.  I hate winter and I do mean hate.  Not so much the snow, but the dark and cold days.  So when spring comes that means winter is over.  I also love spring because that is when the world seems to renew itself and I renew myself along with it.  This is the time of year when I feel the most motivated to change and to create!  In fact my creative juices run so rampid at this time of year that I can hardly control the flow.  I love that feeling!  It's good.  Too bad I can't feel that all year round...I'm working on that, though.  Spring is also when love blooms...it's been a while since I've felt the romance of spring, but that doesn't mean I'm not happy for those who do.

So, by the calendar date it is spring, but when I look out my window I still see reminents of the snow storms we've been having lately.  Sigh...Mother nature keeps turning tricks on me.  I suppose I should get used to it, for it's probably going to keep going on this way.  Am I letting it discourage me?  Hell no!  For some reason my creative juices are still flowing, so why should I let the weather stop me?

There are purple flowers blooming outside my apartment.  Apparently they are not letting the weather stop them either.  We could all learn a lot from nature...  And perhaps that will be my next post.

BTW, this post was inspired by a post a friend of mine wrote on his blog.  Check it out at: http://www.invokemagic.com/
